Space Precinct – The X Files – Michael Moore’s TV Nation – tape 2106

This tape opens with a trailer for a couple of documentaries, It’s For You and Off Your Trolley. Plus a trailer for The Fresh Prince of Bel Air.

Then, we have (for the second time in my collection) the pilot episode of Space Precinct called Protect and Survive. I’ve already looked at this, so I won’t repeat myself. (That’s code for “I’m not watching it again.”)

BBC Genome: BBC Two – 18th September 1995 – 18:00

Recording continues with a trailer for the Friday Night Comedy Zone. And a cute one for Live and Kicking with a couple of kids who are probably in their late twenties by now.

Then, an episode of The O Zone starts, featuring Jamie Theakston. It starts with a profile and interviews with Blur, but after a few minutes, recording switches to later in the evening, and the end of an episode of The Travel Show.

There’s a trailer for Degrees of Error.

Then, The X Files with an episode called Sleepless. A man wakes up to find a fire in his apartment. When the firefighters arrive they find no sign of fire, but the man’s dead.

Mulder is partnered up with the shifty Alex Krycek, a man who looks like he should be delivering Trump talking points on Fox News.

Tony Todd was part of an army program investigating sleep deprivation and medication to reduce the ill effects. Now he’s doing some kind of Freddy Krueger nonsense on his old comrades.

At the end of the episode we learn that Krycek is reporting to the cigarette smoking man.

Then, Michael Moore’s TV Nation and it’s Canada Night. Mike does a fairly good job at singing the Canadian National Anthem at a baseball game.

Mike looks at whether the newly passed ‘Contract with America’ means that he has all the same rights as members of congress. Spoiler: He doesn’t.

And Rusty Cundieff goes to Mississippi as they are the last state in the union to ratify the 13th amendment abolishing slavery. So before that happens (yes, it only happened in 1995) he decides to buy himself some slaves.

After this, recording switches to the end of Indoor Bowls. Then trails for Top Gear, The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, Heartbreak High and Dear Dilemma.

Then, another Space Precinct, called The Snake, also looked at on a previous tape.

BBC Genome: BBC Two – 25th September 1995 – 18:00

After this there’s a trailer for the start of Deep Space Nine on 2, and a trailer for Tim Westwood’s Rap Show.

Then, an episode of The O Zone starts, but that recording stops almost immediately, and underneath is an older recording, with the end of Newsnight. Another trailer for Love Bites: Loved Up.

Then, there’s most of a Face to Face interview with Anthony Hopkins.

BBC Genome: BBC Two – 18th September 1995 – 23:15

The tape runs out before the end of this, but there’s quite a lot of it, which is nice.
