Charlie and Lola – Heroes – Heroes Unmasked – 17 Oct 2007

The first recording today starts with the end of Bobinogs.

There’s an Eco Beebies trail.

Then, another episode of Charlie and LolaMy Best Best Bestest Friend.

Lola and Lotta are playing witches.

They share everything.

“And when Mrs Hansen says get in a crocodile line they always go together.”

They imagine what it’s like in the fish pond. There’s one fish that they think sleeps all the time.

But there’s a new girl in class, Evie, and Lotta has been asked to look after her.

They show her where everything is.

But at lunch, Lola doesn’t get to share with Lotta, as she’s shared with Evie.

Lotta and Evie join up their sandcastles. “Can I join up too?” asks Lola. “No, because then we can come and visit.”

“Look, my hair clips are just like your hair clips and my jumper is just like yours too.”

Evie might not be quite as imaginative as Lola. “Evie, in the pond live all these millions of tiny tadpoles and they’re always playing hide and seek.” “I don’t think tadpoles do play at hide and seek.” “Yes, they do.” “No, they don’t.” But Lotta still invites her to tea.

Lola is very down, so Marv and Charlie cheer her up.

Lotta and Evie are looking in the pond, and Evie is telling Lotta that all the things she’s saying about the pond are wrong. Lotta looks over at Lola having fun with Marv and Charlie. “Lola, Lola! Do you want to come and see what’s in the pond?” “Oh, yes! Oh look, the tadpoles are going to wake up the big fish with all their shouting!” “That’s exactly what I said.” “Nothing can wake up that orangey fish, even if the tadpoles were jumping on his bed.”

They look around and Evie’s gone. “Where’s Evie gone?” “Mmm… She’s over there, playing.”

“Lola, I saw Charlie and Marv swinging you, and it looked fun.” “Charlie, Marv, would you give my best friend Lotta a swing?”

Media Centre Description: Children’s animation. Join Lola and Charlie, a brother and sister, as they deal with topics that affect their everyday lives. Lola and Lotta are best best friends. They do everything together. Then a new girl arrives at school and Lotta seems rather taken with her. Lola starts to feel left out and very jealous. Inconsolable that Lotta may not like her anymore, Charlie and Marv come to the rescue and Lola realises that of course Lotta is still definitely her best friend.

After this there’s a Get Set Go trail and another blast of the Autumn song. No wonder this became such an earworm in our house. Then the recording stops when Tweenies starts.

The next recording starts with the end of The Restaurant.

There’s a trail for Long Way Down.

A nice ad for the BBC News Website.

A trail for Leave Us Kids Alone and a trail for Spooks.

Then we have a repeat of  the Heroes episode Run!.

Media Centre Description: Drama series in which people all over the world deal with the newly-discovered superpowers they possess. While the scandalous truth about Claire’s real father is revealed, her adoptive mother faces a crisis. Matt takes a job as a bodyguard for a crooked attorney, which puts him in the crosshairs of Linderman’s new assassin. Hiro and Ando return to Las Vegas to find the sword, but get sidetracked by a damsel in distress. Suresh finds someone on the list and unknowingly puts himself in danger.

And a fundraising trail for Children in Need featuring an Ashes to Ashes era Gene Hunt.

The next recording starts with a trail for Armstrong & Miller.

Then, an episode of Heroes Unmasked, looking at Run!

Leonard Roberts, who plays Niki’s boyfriend, seems to appreciate the fact that Jessica is bringing money into the household.

Greg Grunberg talks about the shot of him on the sign. “It was only 12-15 feet up, but you can still break your neck.”

Costume designer Debra McGuire talks about dressing up Ali Larter as Jessica.

We hear from the stunt coordinator Ian Quinn.

This recording ends before the programme ends, probably because the next recording is right after, on another channel.

Media Centre Description: Behind the scenes of the drama series.

The next recording starts with about 15 seconds of 60 Seconds news. There’s an ad for Electric Proms. Plus a trail for Celebrity Scissorhands and for Leave Us Kids Alone.

Then, the next episode of HeroesUnexpected. We meet Ted Sprague for the first time (althoough he’s already turned up in a few episodes that I’ve missed). He’s living alone in a cabin far away from anywhere. He’s got a computer, but it’s off the internet. And yet he’s got an instant messaging app open, which seems weird. And it’s receiving messages from someone.

They send a picture of a pneumatic syringe.

Then they reveal that they’re in the house with him. She introduces herself as Hana Gitelman, and her power is WiFi. She also knows how he and her got two strange scratches, from the syringe she sent him. By the way, Ted’s radioactive, which is presumably why everyone’s talking about Peter Petrelli becoming a bomb.

Claire’s mother, who a moment ago did not know who she was, seems to have recovered and can’t remember anything being wrong.

Bennet is in New York talking to Isaac, who’s blaming Peter for everything that he’s seeing in the future. Bennet tells him that Peter might come back, and gives him a gun. “What do you expect me to do with this?” “Save the world.” I already get a bad feeling about this.

Matt Parkman gives his wife a ring, with one of the diamonds he took from the man he was supposed to be protecting last episode. She tells him that Mohinder Suresh called, and that he knows about Matt’s powers.

In Montana, Mohinder is looking for more superpowered people, and Sylar is with him, still pretending to be Zane Taylor, who he killed. They find Dale Smither, who has super-hearing.

Claude Rains the Invisible Man is still trying to get Peter to control his power, and therefore the powers he’s absorbed, and he seems to be making improvements. I think this power is from Sylar, although Peter doesn’t know who he is.

Hope and Ando arrive in Primm, Nevada. Ando discovers that the bag he fetched for her is full of casino chips. She is not happy he’s seen this.

Claire’s mum collapses.

Bennet and the Haitian come after Claude and Peter with infra red goggles and tasers.

Peter is able to stop the Taser from hitting him.

Then he flies off with Claude.

Simone wants Nathan to go public about Peter. He’s reluctant. “You think they’ll burn you at the stake?” “Yeah, pretty much. Because that’s what I would do. I’d round us all up, stick us in a lab on some island in the middle of the ocean.” “Where Peter saw hope, you see disaster.”

Back in Nevada, the State Gaming Commission man arrives with Hiro, and he and Hope start shooting at each other. Ando’s arm is grazed, but otherwise they make it through the firefight safely. Hiro is able to use his power to stop Hope shooting them, but neither he nor Ando see it, so he still thinks his powers are gone.

Matt gets a call from Ted and meets him, where he and Hana explain to Matt how the pneumatic needle syringe is used to track people like them.

Claire and her father have a confrontation in the hospital. He says he was only doing it to protect his family. Claire doesn’t trust him any more.

Mohinder and Sylar return to give Dale a test, but Sylar had already visited her the night before, and she’s dead now. And Sylar is amusingly having to get used to having absorbed her super-hearing.

Hiro and Ando have survived the shootout, but Hiro doesn’t want to put Ando in danger any more, so he tells him to take the rental car back and go home, while he takes the bus back to Las Vegas. There’s a cameo from Stan Lee as the bus driver.

Matt and Ted go to the Bennet house.

Peter confronts Isaac.

Isaac pulls out the gun Bennet gave him, and starts shooting at Peter, who’s invisible by now. It ends about as badly as you would expect when he shoots Simone instead.

Media Centre Description: Drama series in which people all over the world deal with the newly-discovered superpowers they possess. Peter painfully learns that someone close may have betrayed him and Claude. Matt’s world spirals out of control when radioactive man Ted Sprague and Hana Gitelman, a fierce young woman with ‘wireless’ mental abilities, drop into his life. After blood is spilled, Hiro makes a difficult decision about his mission. Claire is unable to contain her anger at her father.
