The Ren And Stimpy Show – tape 1661

Before the first programme, there’s the end of an episode of The Fresh Prince of Bel Air.

There’s a trailer for The Living Soap.

Then, an episode of The Ren and Stimpy Show. The first episode here contains Haunted House and Mad Dog Hoek.

BBC Genome: I’m guessing here, but assuming the episodes here are from consecutive weeks, this one is in the DEF II block with the Genome code BBC Two – 14th March 1994 – 18:00

Next, before the next episode there’s another bit of the Fresh Prince.

There’s another trail for The Living Soap

Then, more unpleasant images from Ren and Stimpy. This episode has Big Baby Scam and Dog Show.

I’m more confident about this Genome link because the Fresh Prince summary matches what’s in the bit I’ve got.

BBC Genome: BBC Two – 21st March 1994 – 18:00

Another chunk of Fresh Prince before the next episode. Ren and Stimpy has one story, Son of Stimpy. Stimpy’s son is a fart. Classic.

BBC Genome: BBC Two – 28th March 1994 – 18:25

After this, recording continues with a trailer for Chinatown and The Two Jakes.

There’s also a trailer for The Wrong Trousers.

Then, an episode of Young Musician of the Year. It’s the Piano semi final, presented by Sarah Greene. Quite nice, but with so many competitors, we only get very short excerpts of their performances, along with frankly dull talking heads with them about how they’re doing chemistry and basket weaving at A-Level.

BBC Genome: BBC Two – 28th March 1994 – 18:50

There’s a trailer for Screen Two: O Mary This London.

Then, Telling Tales meets one of Britain’s youngest greyhound owners.

BBC Genome: BBC Two – 28th March 1994 – 19:30

There’s a trailer for St Matthew Passion.

Then, the final programme on this tape is Horizon – Sir Walter’s Journey.

Sir Walter Bodmer is a geneticist who is interested about the movement of people through history, even in places where the physical evidence for various population migrations is limited or non-existent.

BBC Genome: BBC Two – 28th March 1994 – 20:00

The tape ends right after this programme finishes.
