Here’s just over an hour of early morning Channel 4 hi-jinks, which I swear I only recorded because my boss was on the telly.
Friday, 2nd July 1999 (thanks for the time check, Johnny). Our big website h2g2 was barely 2 months old when Douglas went on The Big Breakfast to hold up the Daily Mail front page.
Luckily, they do also interview him.
It’s a pity that when they show a clip from the TV series, their on-screen graphics obscure much of Rod Lord’s superb animation.
And they do talk to him about h2g2.com. Because of the breakfast theme, we thought it would be a good idea for Douglas to ask for information about scrambled eggs. This was the ‘Call to Action’ to try to get more specific information into the guide, and ended up being the first of many collaborative entries in the guide. You can read the end result here.
