Carrott Confidential – tape 211

Here’s some episodes of Jasper Carrott’s topical comedy show from 1986. Update: Because I’m stupid, I missed the fact that this is actually Carrott Confidential. The first show is almost entirely monologue, with only a couple of sketches, plus musical comedy from Loudon Wainwright III, father of Rufus. The Doctor Who fan in me can’t let the designer credit go by without comment:

Designer Raymond Cusick

Raymond Cusick originally designed the Daleks in 1963. I suppose this is only 23 years later but it’s still surprising to see his name on a show. But nice.

BBC Genome: BBC One – 3rd January 1987 – 21:05

Before the second show, there’s the government information film about Aids – Don’t Die of Ignorance.

Episode 2 features appearances by Ed Bishop and Kit Hollerbach, and Phil Cool and Spike Milligan turn up later.

BBC Genome: BBC One – 10th January 1987 – 21:05

Third episode: BBC Genome: BBC One – 17th January 1987 – 21:05

Before the fourth episode, there’s the end of an episode of Bergerac.

Fourth Episode: BBC Genome: BBC One – 24th January 1987 – 21:05

Fifth Episode: BBC Genome: BBC One – 31st January 1987 – 21:05

No extra bits on this tape, though.
