I don’t really know any of the lore, so I consulted my daughter, who is steeped in it and she tells me that these two characters are also working for the same boss as Team Rocket, and they’re called Butch and Cassidy. They are all apparently trying to catch a Hippowdon.
Ash and friends try to help the Hippowdon.
The two Team Rocket pairs just spend most of this episode fighting each other.
Hippowdon is reunited with his child, Hippopotas.
