Pokemon Battle Dimension – The Simpsons – Smallville: Superman the Early Years – 02 Jun 2009

In today’s episode of Pokemon Battle DimensionOnce There Were Green Fields – it’s time to see the softer side of James, one of Team Rocket. He’s got a Cacnea, but another trainer suggests that if he were to give Cacnea to her, she could teach it the move Drain Punch.

Jessie doesn’t think it’s a good idea.

This whole episode is basically a training montage.

But James realises that he’s not good enough to train Cacnea, and he’s holding them back from being the best Pokemon they could be. He gives Cacnea to Gardenia, the gym leader.

Media Centre Description: Ash continues his quest to become the greatest Pokemon trainer ever. James must decide whether to keep his beloved Cacnea, or allow it to grow strong with Gardenia, the Eterna Gym Leader. Meanwhile, Ash continues to pursue his own Pokemon dreams.

The recording ends with the start of Power Rangers Jungle Fury.

The next recording is The SimpsonsBart-Mangled Banner.

I found this episode very hard going. First, the children are terrified about having their shots.

It all seems very Anti-Vax.

Through a rather contrived setup, Bart accidentally ends up mooning the flag.

The family are deemed anti-American, and have to go on a right-wing talk show to defend themselves, which goes as badly as you’d expect.

They even end up in jail.

Media Centre Description: Cartoon comedy. The Simpson family is thrown in prison after Bart moons the American flag, but there might be hope when an old fogey hatches an escape plan.

The final recording today is Smallville: Superman the Early YearsInjustice.

Tess is still running headlines about Davis Bloome being the serial killer. “Clark, if you don’t want to admit your true identity, that’s fine… but we both know that Davis Bloome isn’t a man… ..he’s a beast.” “If he is this beast, then encouraging the police to go after him is dangerous. People will die.” “And when that happens… you’ll know where to find him… ..so that you can finally slay the proverbial dragon.”

Clark hears Chloe screaming for help, so he rushes to where she’s running through a monochrome forest from an unseen threat, and he saves her from being run over by a truck.

But watching this scene are a group of super-powered people. “He’s found her. Now it’s time we make our move.”

Chloe has apparently had enough of Davis. “He never left me alone. There was this motel just outside Metropolis that we found, and… ..he wouldn’t let me leave. I was so scared. We just hid during the day until dark, and then… one day, he decided that it was time to leave… and so we stopped at this gas station… and I just ran.” “You’re safe now.” “No, Clark… He’s still out there. Anything that was good in him is now gone. No-one’s safe. Not until you destroy that beast.”

The super-powered team is being run by Tess. Two of them have already been killed by Davis because they didn’t wait for backup.

Another of them wants to leave the team, so her powers are stolen by Parasite.

Clark asks Oliver if he can steal some Black Kryptonite from Tess’s safe, which he can use to destroy Davis.

Clark tells Chloe that his actual plan is to use the Kryptonian crystal and Black Kryptonite to separate Davis from Doomsday and send Doomsday to the Phantom Zone.

Emil Hamilton calls Clark to tell him about two of the dead super-powered team. One of them was killed by Doomsday, but the other, who we saw earlier with Tess losing her powers to Parasite, was killed by a small explosive implanted in her head. It’s also a GPS tracker.

Chloe sees this, and goes to find the rest of the super team, who she appears to be working with. They assure her that Livewire was alive when they left her. Chloe believes Tess killed her, but the others trust Tess.

Chloe tells Clark about the team, showing him the info she found. “I know the girl who was killed. Her name was Leslie Willis, aka Livewire. You know, I was using the Isis computers to hack into Tess’ mainframe, and I found all of this. Together, with the other inmates from Black Creek, Leslie was part of a team assembled by Tess.” “Eva Greer? Tess’ assistant is meteor-infected?” “But Tess betrayed her. It was all a deception that…”

Chloe collapses and appears to die, then starts glowing and turns back into Eva Greer – she was a shapeshifter all along.

Clark goes to see Plastique, but Parasite steals his powers.

They go after Tess, wanting passwords to Black Creek so they can recruit more meteor powered people to their team. Clark comes in to stop them, despite not having his powers any more.

Oliver arrives, and has a handy Kryptonite ring which stops Parasite since he took Clark’s powers.

He beats up Parasite, who’s suffering from the Kryptonite. Clark stops Oliver from killing him. “The pain, it’s killing me.” “You can stop the pain. Just give me my powers back.”

Back in the Barn, Clark discovers the crystal is gone. Tess turns up and tells him she destroyed it. “I had it destroyed… ..so that you’d have no choice but to kill the beast. Sending him to some otherworldly prison, that’s not enough. How many people like Plastique have you sent to jail only to have them slip through the system? What if that happened again? You can’t tell me that no-one’s ever escaped from this Phantom Zone.”

Back at the mansion, Tess has the Orb, and it’s speaking to her. “Is Kal-El ready to fulfil the prophecy?” “I did as you asked… The crystal has been destroyed.” “Then you shall be the saviour of Kandor.”

Media Centre Description: Drama series following the teenage years of future Superman Clark Kent. As Davis struggles to contain the beast within, Chloe implores Clark to end his life. To help track him down, Tess and her team of meteor fans offer their assistance.
