The recording ends with the start of Hollyoaks.

Th next recording is Smallville: Superman the Early Years – Beast. This is getting close to the end of Season 8.

Chloe is having nightmares. She gets a call from Davis telling her to come to the basement, and there’s a trail of flower petals leading down there. No, Chloe! Haven’t you seen the Buffy episode Passion? This never leads to anything good.

Sure enough Davis starts pouting when Chloe even hints that she’s only friends with him, and after the inevitable reluctant smooching, there’s a rather gruesome reveal of Clark’s bloody torso before Chloe wakes up and the titles start. This opening will be incomprehensible when it goes out in the morning.

Clark comes to see Chloe. The Daily Planet has a front page article naming Davis as the serial killer, after all the bodies were found in the cornfield. Clark thinks Davis is still alive, so Chloe does her best to deflect and assure him he can’t be.

Jimmy comes to Oliver to ask for some money, supposedly to get his car fixed. Oliver assumes, probably rightly, that it’s for more of his drugs, and instead offers to pay for rehab, but Jimmy just gets cross and leaves.

Chloe asks Dr Emil Hamilton for help in finding a cure for whatever is turning Davis into a monster.

Davis persuades Chloe to leave Smallville with him.

Clark tells Chloe that when he finds Davis, he’s going to take him to the Fortress, and open up a portal to the Phantom Zone to imprison Davis there. To put him off the scent, Chloe tells him about “a string of suspicious murders in Alaska.”

Oliver goes to the Talon, and finds Jimmy stealing money. “It’s just a loan.” They don’t have much of a chance to discuss this, because Davis is there and knocks them both unconscious.

He ties them up in the basement, and it’s looking like he’s going to kill Oliver, because he thinks Chloe will not forgive him if he kills Jimmy.

Luckily, Clark has returned from the wild goose chase in Alaska, hears what’s happening, and zooms through the basement, grabbing Davis and disappearing.

Jimmy doesn’t look happy to see Chloe when she arrives to find him being wheeled out. “Whatever you do, Chloe… you stay away from that monster.”

Oliver is also unhappy with Chloe, telling her she’s handled everything in the worst way possible. He tells her he’s leaving Clark to finish this.

In the fortress, there’s some fighting, and Clark opens a portal to the Phantom Zone.

But Chloe appears, having used Clark’s portal disc, and she closes the portal, then takes Davis away.

Oliver offers Jimmy a job.

Chloe calls Clark to tell him not to try looking for her. “I must have thrown a million green rocks away, and I have never really saved you… ..now I can.” “Chloe, listen to me. This is your life that we’re talking about. Don’t do this.” “Clark… if there’s one lesson I’ve learned from you, it’s that choosing the greater good is never a sacrifice.”

Media Centre Description: Drama series following the teenage years of future Superman Clark Kent.

The recording ends with the start of Jade: As Seen on TV.

The next recording starts with the end of a Party Election Broadcast by Libertas EU – a party I had forgotten ever existed, if I even knew at the time.

There’s a trail for Dragon’s Den Online.

Plus a trail for Blood, Sweat and Takeaways.

Then it’s the penultimate episode of season two of The WireBad Dreams.

The police start their raids on the various targets. The raid on the Pyramid warehouse doesn’t find much more than a bloodstain on the floor (presumably from Double-G’s murder) and traces of drugs from a huge pile of drugs they washed down a drain while cleaning up.

The raid on Nick Sobotka’s basement turns up his stash of money, and plenty of heroin, though. But Nick is not at home – he met an old girlfriend of Ziggy’s the night before and they ended up in bed.

The FBI wait until later to move in and arrest Frank – so Valchek can put the cuffs on him, then walk him out of the building into a crowd of reporters.  I hate that guy so much.

Stringer Bell brings Omar in, and tells him that Brother Mouzone, the man Avon has brought in to look after his interests, and who is disrupting Stringer’s unapproved deal with Proposition Joe, was the man who tortured and murdered Omar’s boyfriend Brandon. Stringer offers to tell Omar how to find Mouzone, and figures that will make things equal between them and Omar.

Beadie Russell gets to do a bit of surveillance, as the detail follows Spiros, to see if he’s meeting with the unknown higher-up boss.

Frank is clearly needing to atone. He takes some work unloading at the docks.

They get pictures of Spiros coming out with another man, his lawyer, but just behind them, The Greek walks out, but because he doesn’t look like he’s with them, the team doesn’t note him. McNulty snaps a picture, though.

More bad news for Frank – his lobbyist tells him that it looks like the refurbishment of the Grain Pier is not going to happen. This was one of the big projects that he’s been paying lots of bribes to politicians to generate more work for the docks. “No one’s gonna stand with us now the FBI is on you. They’re scared.” “Of what?” “They took the money, Frank. If they deliver the votes, they figure the feds’ll be on them, too. I’m sorry, Frank. Find a way of putting this FBI thing to bed, maybe we can come back the next session with the grain pier.”

Spiros and the Greek discuss what to do. They think they can help Frank get Ziggy out of jail. “If a man can have this, why would he talk to the police?”

Omar raids the motel where Brother Mouzone is staying, shoots him in the stomach, then talks to him. But Mouzone is convincing when he tells him he had nothing to do with Brandon’s murder. So Omar calls 911 for him and leaves.

Russell comes to talk to Frank, asking if he would consider coming in and talking to the police about the investigation. If he’ll give them the criminals behind the deaths of the women in the container, they can arrange witness protection.

Spiros talks to Nick, and assures him they can sort everything out if they don’t talk to the police. I sense a family tension brewing.

Frank comes in and talks to attorney Rhonda Pearlman about testifying and naming names.

There’s a scene where Spiros is destroying his current passport, and looking at his brand new identity, and I spotted an interesting detail. His new identity is “Kirko Skaddeng”, a medical assistant.

But if we look at the titles, there’s some shots of documents of the dead women from the container, and one of them has the same details as the new passport. I think it’s unlikely to be an in-story thing, as the trafficked woman would not have been over forty, so I’m going to assume the the shot in the titles reused Spiros’ new passport and just slapped a new photo on it, assuming nobody would be reading it. Just the art department saving time and money.

Frank meets with Nick. He tells him that he’s going to help the police. Nick tells him that the Greek can get Ziggy off the murder charge. They’ve set up a meeting for him. Frank agrees to take the meeting, but tells Nick he’s going alone.

There’s a montage, as a fax is sent to the FBI, and slowly makes its way through the system, then ends up in the inbox of the dodgy agent Koutris.

He telephones the Greek as he’s waiting for Frank. The Greek tells Spiros “Your way, it won’t work.” Frank walks towards the meeting.

Media Centre Description: Season two of the acclaimed police drama from Baltimore. In the penultimate episode of the season, the police start making arrests in a series of dawn raids. As Sobotka realises the severity of Ziggy and Nick’s situations, the police and the Greeks both reach out to him. Proposition Joe arranges a meeting between Omar and Stringer Bell. Russel learns new police skills.

The final recording today starts with the end of Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased).

Then it’s a repeat of Space 1999The Dorcons.
