Pokemon Battle Dimension – 01 Jul 2009

We’re into July 2009, and I’m afraid this is a month comprised solely of Pokemon, and it will continue beyond for a little while.

The friends have reached the Wallace Cup, and this episode is basically just them competing, although it’s not pokemon battles, it’s them showing off their pokemon’s skill. Jessie has entered (as Jessalina).

Zoey competes with her Finneon.

Ash performs with Buizel.

Dawn is nervous about her performance.

She performs with Ambipom.

All four of the friends (including May) have gone through to the next round.

Jessie was not as lucky.

Pokemon Battle DimensionStaging a Hero’s Welcome

Media Centre Description: Ash continues his quest to become the greatest Pokemon trainer ever. The Wallace Cup is about to begin and Dawn is nervous because of her previous failures, leaving her short of confidence.

Pokemon Battle Dimension – 30 Jun 2009

Today’s recording is Pokemon Battle DimensionFull Course Tag Battle.

Ash and friends have met with Ash’s friend May, and they’re visiting a very posh restaurant where you have to win a pokemon battle to get into the dining room.

May gets very angry when they learn that all the food in the restaurant has been stolen.

They put two Munchlax on the scent of the stolen food.

In a novel twist, it’s Team Rocket who have stolen the food.

They are defeated by Glaceon and Buneary.

While waiting for their meal to be prepared, May and Dawn battle the restaurant’s staff, using Blaziken and Piplup.

Media Centre Description: Ash continues his quest to become the greatest Pokemon trainer ever. Ash and the gang meet their old friend May, who has been travelling in Johto. They want to go for dinner but must win a tag battle before they get served.

Pokemon Battle Dimension – 29 Jun 2009

Today’s recording is Pokemon Battle DimensionOur Cup Runneth Over.

Most of the first half is missing but we join the action as Ash and friends meet Wallace, who’s so beautiful he seems to have transparent hair.

He’s obviously famous because he talks about appearing on talk shows and public appearances.

Wallace asks Dawn if she’ll show him some of her contest moves, so she and Ash have a bit of a battle. Piplup! Use bubble beam.

Wallace gives some advice.

He suggests Dawn plays with Piplup rather than just practices.

Team Rocket turn up, in an impenetrable disguise as usual.

Wallace gives a demonstration with his Milotic.

The end of the episode is clearly a reveal, and Ash is asked to call someone in Snow Point City, and the person who receives the call turns to face that camera and says “Great! Thanks! I’ll go take it right now!” I’ve asked my Pokemon expert (my oldest daughter) and she tells me this is May.

Media Centre Description: Ash continues his quest to become the greatest Pokemon trainer ever. On their way to Pastoria City, the gang learn of an event called the Wallace Cup. Dawn wants to enter, but thinking about Zoey’s advice leaves her doubting whether she can win.

Pokemon Battle Dimension – 26 Jun 2009

Today’s reording is Pokemon Battle DimensionPika and Goliath.

Oh no! Pikachu is hurt after a fight with a Raichu.

He needs defibrilators, which is slightly odd for an electric type.

Ash is wondering whether he ought to evolve Pikachu into a Raichu, using a Thunderstone.

Later they find Pikachu has gone missing, along with the Thunderstone.

Ash is worried and they search for him. But when Ash finds him, he sees he’s been practicing. He doesn’t want to evolve.

Next day, there’s another battle between Pikachu and Raichu.

Pikachu defeats the Raichu.

Media Centre Description: Ash continues his quest to become the greatest Pokemon trainer ever. Pikachu meets a trainer who owns both a Pichu and a Raichu – and is forced to think very hard about an issue concerning his future.

The recording ends with the start of Power Rangers Jungle Fury.

Here’s the ad breaks. I notice that Confessions of a Shopaholic is out on DVD, and as I’m writing this, I read the extremely sad news that the novel’s author, Sophie Kinsella, has died of cancer at a shockingly young age. I’m so very, very sorry,

Pokemon Battle Dimension – 25 Jun 2009

Today we have Pokemon Battle DimensionCrossing Paths.

We’re getting some of Jesse’s tragic back story, where her promising theatre career was derailed when she failed one audition, after deciding not to give up and leave with her boyfriend. So missed opportunities are on her mind.

Brock is being his usual weird self when another woman is around.

Good thing Croagunk is there to tase him and drag him away, which happens twice in this scene.

Because of her tragic back story, Jesse wants the Dustox she’s found to be able to find love, but there’s a flood that’s preventing it getting to the crossing.

For once, Team Rocket are doing a good thing, trying to block the flooding that was caused by a lightning strike.

Together they’re able to dam the breach. But now the lake water is very low.

They have to melt some snow to refill.

And the Dustox use their powers to siphon the water that was lost from the breach.

The lake looks good for the Dustox Crossing.

Jesse says goodbye to her Dustox, as she won’t let it miss out of the chance of love like she did.

The Dustox make their Golden Arch.

Media Centre Description: Ash continues his quest to become the greatest Pokemon trainer ever. Team Rocket find themselves at a lake, where a shiny Dustox catches their eye. Can they capture it, or will they lose a pokemon of their own?

Pokemon Battle Dimension – 24 Jun 2009

Merry Christmas!

Today it’s Pokemon Battle DimensionThe Bells Are Singing.

Ash and friends are enjoying a magic show, and some singing by some Chinglings.

Team Rocket want to steal the Chinglings and give them to their boss, who would then be very grateful to them.

Brock is sending his heart out to you all.

Team Rocket are singing too.

They infiltrate the Chinglings with a robot duplicate.

They steal the three Chinglings, and James gets very attached to one of them.

When it refuses to join Team Rocket, he uses Mime Jr. so there’s dancing as well as singing.

Media Centre Description: Ash continues his quest to become the greatest Pokemon trainer ever. The gang come to the aid of a trainer named Francesca who has a spoiled Chingling. Will they be able to adjust the Pokemon’s attitude, or is it beyond help?

Pokemon Battle Dimension – 23 Jun 2009

Today’s saunter through Sinnoh region brings us to Pokemon Battle DimensionEnter Galactic.

I’ve no real clue what’s happening here, as once again we’re missing most of the first half of the episode. But I believe that some people called Team Galactic, and they’re interested in the ancient meteorites that apparently guard the city.

They have some kind of magic key.

All of a sudden it’s all helicopters. This suddenly seems like a completely different show,

Team Galactic start stealing the meteorites.

“We don’t care about your landmarks. But these meteorites must take the necessary forms.”

Officer Jenny arrives.

Team Galactic use a Toxicroak to fight them off.

Brock is almost hit but Croagunk protects him.

Team Galactic use some Golbat to distract them.

Reggie brings Electabuzz to help in the fight.

Pikachu and Electabuzz team up to defeat the Golbats.

Along with Piplup they manage to stop Team Galactic getting away with the meteorites.

Media Centre Description: Ash continues his quest to become the greatest Pokemon trainer ever. Seeing a beautiful meteor shower, Ash and the gang decide to go and investigate. But they are not alone – and the fearsome Team Galactic is about to make itself known!

Pokemon Battle Dimension – 22 Jun 2009

Today’s recording is Pokemon Battle DimensionA Triple Fighting Chance.

Ash is battling Maylene. Chimchar first.

Fighting Meditite.

Ash switches to Staravia.

Maylene switches to Lucario.

Chimchar is back after a rest.

But Lucario is too strong, so then he switches to Buizel.

The battle ends up in a draw.

It’s up to the gym leader to decide who wins the badge, so Maylene, being the gym leader, awards Ash the badge.

Media Centre Description: Ash continues his quest to become the greatest Pokemon trainer ever. Ash finally has the chance to battle Maylene now that she has regained the will to fight, but will he win his next badge?

Pokemon Battle Dimension – 19 Jun 2009

Today it’s Pokemon Battle DimensionCrossing the Battle Line. Missing the start once again.

This story is basically one gym battle between Maylene and Dawn, helping them both recover confidence. Maylene starts with Meditite.

Dawn starts with Buneary.

She switches to Ambipom.

Maylene switches to Lucario.

Dawn switches to Piplup.

Maylene wins, but they both enjoyed the battle, and both regained confidence.

Media Centre Description: Ash continues his quest. Both Dawn and Maylene have lost their fighting spirit after a series of losses. The only way to restore their enthusiasm seems to be an exhibition match.
