The X Files – tape 2147

It’s another short tape today, with a single episode of The X Files on it. The Blessing Way, the first episode of the third season. Mulder is presumed dead, after being trapped in a buried, burning train car with the alien bodies.

But his body is discovered by the native Americans he was working with, and they do an ancient ritual with him, which appears to involve him being visited by dead people – here’s Jerry Hardin as Deep Throat.

The FBI is so convinced Mulder is dead, they have a funeral.

John Neville is part of the grand conspiracy. He tells Scully that ‘they’ are going to try to kill her, and they might send someone she trusts to do the job.

It ends on a cliffhanger, with Scully visited by her boss Skinner, and ending in a standoff with both of them pointing guns at each other.

After this, recording continues very briefly with the start of Star Trek The Next Generation, and right at the end of the recording, it switches to a couple of seconds of Newsnight before stopping.

As this is a short tape, here’s an extra for you – all the adverts and trails from around this episode, if you like that sort of thing.
