Babylon 5 – The X-Files – tape 1980

More Babylon 5 with the episode Acts of Sacrifice. G’Kar is desperate for Earth to intervene on their behalf in their struggle with the Centauri. Meanwhile, Ivanova gets to exercise some diplomacy with an alien diplomat who tells her that diplomatic relations in his world are settled through sex. Part of his alienness is that he only speaks through a telepathic symbiote – who’s played by Paul Williams – songwriter of such classics as Bugsy Malone.

Meanwhile, Centauri/Narn relations are at rock bottom, and there’s a power struggle as G’Kar tries to keep the peace, but other Narn want all-out conflict with the Centauri on the station.

Broadcast on 25th April 1995.

Before the next episode there’s a trailer for Glam Night, foregrounding a very poor Gary Glitter lookalike, and using It’s Good To be Back as the theme. Oh well.

Then, back to Babylon 5 for the episode Hunter, Prey. Bernie Casey guests an an Earthforce Special Intelligence Agent looking for the former doctor of President Clark.

The doctor is being pursued because he has information that Clark knew about the assassination of former President Santiago.

Broadcast 2nd May 1995

After this, there’s an episode of Deputy Dawg, called Mule-itary Maneuvers.

Then recording switches to Sky One and The X Files with the episode Excelsis Dei. A nurse in a care home is brutally attacked by an invisible entity. She thinks it was something to do with one of the residents, but then a resident is throttled to death. The residents are on an experimental treatment for Alzheimers.

Yes - It's Ghosts

Next, more from Babylon 5 with There All The Honor Lies. I had a finger failure at the start of this tape. I was obviously watching it, and accidentally hit record, then turned it off really quickly. There’s less than a second of these two guys inserted into the recording during the titles – and it’s definitely my error, as there’s the telltale bulk erase glitch a few seconds after the insert.

These two blokes

In the episode, Sheridan is attacked by a Minbari, and shoots him dead in self defence, but a Minbari witness says he shot him in cold blood.

Broadcast 9th May 1995.

After this, there’s another episode of Deputy Dawg – The Great Grain Robbery.

Then there’s the start of Channel 4 News with the announcement of a sell-off of the Nuclear industry.
